How far along: 9 weeks
Weight gain: None but I feel massively bloated, abd muscles are definitely loosening because my tummy is definitely bigger despite no weight gain on the scale
How big is baby: Razzie Raspberry
Maternity clothes: In the near future, things are getting pretty snug
Sleep: Having trouble falling to sleep and waking up frequently during the night, peeing every 2 hours! My thoughts are totally preoccupied and centered around baby, all the time!
Best moment this week: We had our first appointment at the Center for Women's Health at Evergreen with the midwife (Shana), she was super nice! There are about 5 midwives and 7 OBGYNs at this clinic who all work collaboratively which is nice and the birth will be at Evergreen Hospital. At this first appointment, they asked us a ton of questions and took blood for testing. She brought in the portable U/S machine and we were able to see baby (she said there was only one in there, phew!). Baby looked like a gummy bear, very cute. Hung saw the beating heart, I didn't have my glasses on so I pretended like I could see it too but I was squinting so hard I couldn't be sure LOL. It was kind of like that episode from friends with Ross & Rachel where she can't see the baby in the ultrasound.
We weren't able to hear the heartbeat because baby was hiding behind my belly button so the doppler was only able to pick up my abd aortic pulse. It was reassuring though that hubbie saw the "little beacon" and he was so amazed and in awe, it was so sweet and heartwarming :)
Movement: None
Food Cravings: Carbs, carbs and more carbs! Seems to be the only thing that settles my stomach and helps the nausea. Loving the cheddar bay biscuits at Red Lobster, Olive Garden bread sticks, pizza and pasta too. Like I said, CARBS! LOL
Pregnancy Symptoms: Nausea (morning and evening, with emesis ugh), tender boobs, insomnia (and can't take anything for it!), mild abd cramping (guessing it's round ligament stretching)
Belly button in or out: Innie
What I miss: Sushi, rare steak, my morning tea
What I'm looking forward to: Our next appointment at 12-weeks, our midwife said that the baby will look a lot different! Time is still going slow as molasses, people say this gets better...tick tock tick tock
Weekly Wisdom: Bring glasses to doctor's appointments, I'm at that age LOL
